Lonzo Ball Returns to Chicago Bulls After Month-Long Absence Due to Wrist Injury
Lonzo Ball, the guard for the Chicago Bulls, made his highly anticipated return to the lineup on Wednesday, November 27, after being sidelined for nearly a month with a sprained right wrist. Ball’s injury occurred during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on October 28, just one week into the 2024-25 NBA season. Despite initial concerns, Ball was listed as available to play against the Orlando Magic, marking his first game back after missing 15 consecutive matches.
Ball’s return was significant, given his history of injuries. He had only recently come back to the Bulls this season after a lengthy absence due to leg injuries. In his limited time on the court this season, Ball has averaged 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, shooting 35.7% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
In the game against the Orlando Magic, the Bulls ultimately fell short, losing 133-119. Despite the loss, Ball contributed six points in 15 minutes of play. The Magic’s strong performance, led by Jalen Suggs‘ career-high 31 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope‘s season-high 24 points, proved too much for the Bulls to overcome.
The Bulls, currently the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with an 8-11 record, will look to rebound from this loss as they host the Boston Celtics on Friday. Ball’s return is expected to bolster the team’s performance, especially given his past contributions, including averaging 13 points and 5.1 assists over 35 games in his initial season with the Bulls.
