Minnesota United Fc Vs La Galaxy Match Preview

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Minnesota United FC (MNUFC) will host the LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m. CT at Allianz Field. The Loons are looking to bounce back after a disappointing draw last week, while the defending MLS Cup champions are desperately seeking their first win of the season.

MNUFC, currently sitting in a mid-table position with a record of 2-1-1, recently squandered a three-goal lead in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Sporting Kansas City. Head Coach Eric Ramsay expressed his frustration, emphasizing the need for better concentration and decision-making during crucial moments of matches.

“There’s obviously individual moments, there’s collective moments, it’s a disappointing result to leave here without three points. We have to learn from our mistakes,” Ramsay said following the draw. “It’s unacceptable to be winning 3-0 and to end it the way we did.”

Six MNUFC players have been called up for international duty, leading to adjustments in the starting lineup against a Galaxy team struggling at the bottom of the league standings with no wins in their first four games.

The Galaxy’s loss of key playmaker Riqui Puig has compounded their struggles. Head Coach Greg Vanney acknowledges the pressure on his squad as they aim for their first victory.

“It’s nice to get a goal from him,” Vanney said after their last match allowed the Galaxy to secure their first point of the season. “We need to build on this as a team and gain some chemistry.”

MNUFC will also pay tribute to former player Christian Ramirez, who will return to Allianz Field with the Galaxy. Ramirez, known as ‘Superman’ during his time with the club, is currently tied with two goals this season and aims to add to that tally against his former team.

“It’s a place that gave me a lot over five years, and I have a special connection with the city and the fans,” Ramirez commented ahead of his return.

Fans attending the match should arrive early as the first 5,000 attendees will receive a complimentary MNUFC schedule magnet, courtesy of SeatGeek. Additionally, new ticket scanners at the entrance will streamline access to Allianz Field.

Tickets for the match are available through the MNUFC app, which allows fans to manage their tickets and access a digital stadium map, while also featuring mobile ordering for concessions.

As part of their ongoing community engagement efforts, MNUFC will be supporting local non-profit organization Roots for the Home Team by providing healthy food options at the stadium, ensuring that attendees can enjoy quality meals on matchday.

MNUFC is one win away from achieving 100 regular-season victories in MLS history, making this match against the Galaxy particularly significant.

Saturday’s matchup is expected to be competitive, with MNUFC determined to regain their footing in the league, while the Galaxy will look to avoid further setbacks.
