Louisville Vs Clemson Basketball Game 2025

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men’s basketball team is set to face Clemson tonight at the KFC Yum! Center, aiming to secure its first five-game winning streak since the 2020-21 season. The game, scheduled for 7 p.m., will be broadcast on ESPNU, with Matt Schumacker and Debbie Antonelli providing commentary.

Louisville (10-5, 3-1 ACC) holds a 9-6 all-time series advantage over Clemson (12-3, 4-0), including an 8-0 record at home. However, the Cardinals have gone 5-5 in their last 10 meetings with the Tigers. Clemson, led by longtime coach Brad Brownell, is coming off an Elite Eight appearance in last year’s NCAA Tournament and is off to a strong start this season.

Clemson’s success this season is anchored by second-team preseason All-ACC selections Chase Hunter and Ian Schieffelin. Hunter, who considered entering the NBA Draft last spring, is averaging a career-best 17.3 points per game. Schieffelin, known for his physical play, is averaging a double-double with 13.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Louisville’s five losses this season have all come against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25, including No. 1 Tennessee, No. 4 Duke, and No. 6 Kentucky. The Cardinals rank eighth nationally in three-point attempts per game (31.1) and 54th in free throws made per game (16.7).

Ken Pomeroy‘s analytics predict a close game, with Louisville edging out Clemson 72-71. The Cardinals are favored by 4 points, with the over/under set at 145.5 points.

Notably, Louisville has never lost a home game to Clemson, and the Tigers are one of only two ACC teams the Cardinals have not defeated on the road since joining the conference in 2014. Clemson is also off to its third-best start in ACC play, tied for 4-0 in league games.

Fans can listen to the game on the Cardinal Sports Network, with Paul Rogers and Bob Valvano on the call. The game is a crucial matchup as both teams vie for position at the top of the ACC standings.
