WASHINGTON, D.C. — Loyola Chicago will face VCU in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Capital One Arena, following their victory over Saint Louis in the quarterfinals. The Ramblers defeated the Billikens 72-64 on Friday, securing their spot in the semifinals.

Des Watson led Loyola Chicago with 25 points against Saint Louis, shooting 7 of 14 from the field and knocking down 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Watson’s performance proved crucial as he scored 14 points in the first half, helping the Ramblers establish a 38-30 lead at halftime.

“I just tried to stay aggressive and make the right plays for my teammates,” Watson said after the game. “Everyone contributed, and we’re excited to keep this momentum going against VCU.”

In the other semifinal matchup, the Big Ten Tournament will see No. 18 Wisconsin take on No. 7 Michigan State at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, also on March 15 at 1 p.m. Wisconsin advanced to this stage by defeating UCLA 86-70 on Friday, setting a Big Ten Tournament record with 19 three-pointers.

John Tonje was pivotal for the Badgers, matching his career high with 26 points while hitting six 3-pointers. “Our offense clicked and the ball was moving,” Tonje said. “It’s about keeping this energy and focus as we face Michigan State.”

Wisconsin surged ahead after a 15-7 run late in the first half, making five consecutive threes that turned the game into a blowout. They will attempt to even the season series against Michigan State, who previously defeated them in March.

The Ramblers are currently 22-10, while the Badgers hold a strong 25-8 record. As both teams prepare to bring their best in the semifinals, fans can watch the games via CBS Sports Network.

“This is what we’ve worked for all season,” Loyola Chicago coach Drew Valentine said. “We’re ready for the challenge against VCU, and we know it’s going to be a tough matchup.”
