BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – LSU Baseball has rescheduled its Saturday game against Purdue Fort Wayne to avoid forecasted storms. The second game of the season-opening series will now take place at 11 a.m., shifting from its original time of 1 p.m.
The season opener is set for 2 p.m. on Friday at Alex Box Stadium, where fans can expect an exciting start to the Tigers’ season. Gates will open 90 minutes before the scheduled first pitch, providing fans with ample time to find their seats and enjoy the pre-game atmosphere.
With severe weather predicted for Saturday afternoon, the coaching staff made the decision to move the game earlier in an attempt to ensure that fans and players are kept safe. This proactive measure allows the series against Purdue Fort Wayne to continue while adhering to safety precautions.
“We want to ensure that our fans can enjoy the game without the worry of storms disrupting the event,” said LSU Head Coach. “We believe this change will allow for a better experience for everyone involved.”
Fans are encouraged to check for additional updates on the LSU Baseball schedule and any potential changes. Ticket information remains available through the team’s official website.
