BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU will host its 16th NCAA regional and ninth in the last ten seasons, welcoming strong contenders Nebraska, UConn, and Southeastern Louisiana for the Baton Rouge Regional from May 16 to 18.

As the No. 10 overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, LSU (41-14) will face Southeastern Louisiana (48-14), the Southland Conference Tournament champions, in the second game of the regional at 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday. The first game features Nebraska (39-13) against UConn (35-17) at 2 p.m. CT.

LSU has an impressive track record, having hosted regional tournaments in nine of the last ten years, excluding 2020 due to COVID-19. The Tigers have consistently performed well, now celebrating their third consecutive season with over 40 wins, a milestone achieved in ten seasons under head coach Beth Torina.

Offensively, the Tigers are powerful, boasting a .335 batting average with 42 home runs this season, highlighted by infielder Tori Edwards, who leads the team with a .403 average and 18 home runs.

Southeastern Louisiana earned its spot by winning its second consecutive SLC Tournament title, marking its second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Lions have a solid batting record and hold the national lead with 194 stolen bases this season.

Nebraska, a Big Ten at-large selection, enters the tournament with impressive records in both batting and pitching, including setting highs in runs scored and home runs this season. Junior Jordyn Bahl, a key player for Nebraska, has excelled offensively and in the circle.

UConn rounds out the regional as the Big East Tournament champions making their first NCAA appearance since 2001. They boast strong offensive numbers, led by catcher Grace Jenkins, who has a .425 batting average and 21 home runs to her name.

As LSU prepares for their first game against Southeastern Louisiana, the stakes are high, given the fierce competition they will face throughout the weekend.
