LSU Tackle Will Campbell Poised for First-Round NFL Draft Selection

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Will Campbell, former left tackle for LSU, is projected to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The event kicks off on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET.

This marks the first time an LSU tackle has reached the first round, a significant milestone for the Tigers’ football program. Brian Kelly, the head coach at LSU, has a strong history of developing elite offensive linemen, including those drafted in the first round during his tenure at Notre Dame.

Kelly’s successful coaching record shows that he developed four first-round offensive linemen, with three making All-Pro teams at some point in their careers. Campbell, who is expected to be one of the top picks, hopes to follow their path. Current projections suggest that if Campbell does not go in the top three, he is likely to be a top-10 selection.

In comparison, Quenton Nelson, drafted sixth overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, is an example of how an offensive lineman can seamlessly transition to the NFL. Nelson made seven Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams, proving he was a safe, high-impact choice in his draft class.

The 2025 NFL Draft, also known as the 90th Annual National Football League Player Selection Meeting, will unfold over three days: the first round on Thursday, followed by rounds two and three on Friday, and rounds four through seven on Saturday.

The draft will be broadcast on NFL Network, ABC, and ESPN. With Campbell potentially breaking new ground for LSU linemen, all eyes are on this rising star as the selections unfold.
