LSU Tigers Set for Showdown Against No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers

BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 14 LSU Tigers are facing their seventh ranked opponent of the season as they host the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game is set to tip off at 8:05 p.m. CT.
Tickets are available through LSUTix.net and at the upper concourse ticket windows of the Maravich Center starting one hour before the game. This matchup marks LSU’s final Tuesday home game, coinciding with the special ‘Beat the Buzzer’ night, featuring discounted food and beverages from 7 p.m. until 10 minutes before tipoff. LSU students will be admitted free of charge, with the first 1,000 receiving a Mardi Gras designed basketball jersey.
The matchup promises a thrilling atmosphere with Chris Blair calling the game on the LSU Sports Radio Network and the SEC Network providing television coverage with Tom Hart, Dane Bradshaw, and Alyssa Lang on the sidelines.
Currently, Tennessee boasts an impressive 23-3 overall record and a 10-3 conference standing, coming off a 77-69 victory against Texas A&M last Saturday. The Volunteers’ standout, Chaz Lanier, delivered a season-high performance with 30 points, including eight three-pointers.
LSU enters this contest reeling from a tough 79-65 defeat against No. 2 Florida. Freshman Robert Miller III shone in that game, achieving his first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Another freshman, Curtis Givens III, contributed with 11 points and four assists without turning the ball over.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index (BPI), LSU ranks second in the Southeastern Conference for the toughest remaining schedule. After this game, the Tigers will conclude their homestand before heading to Mississippi State on Saturday and Kentucky on March 4.
LSU’s final home game of the regular season is scheduled for March 8 against Texas A&M at 3 p.m. as they aim to improve their current 14-13 record and 3-11 mark in conference play.
