Luis Sinisterra Out for Cruzeiro’s Match Against Bragantino

Belo Horizonte, Brazil — Luis Sinisterra, the Colombian striker for Cruzeiro, will not play in the upcoming match against Bragantino due to a right thigh muscle strain. The game is set for Sunday, September 21, at 8:30 PM local time.
Sinisterra, who was acquired during the last transfer window, has been a noteworthy presence since joining the team, scoring a crucial goal in Cruzeiro’s recent comeback win against Bahia. However, he will be sidelined for this match as the perfomance and health department assess the severity of his injury.
The striker was also absent from the previous match against Bragantino, with the club yet to confirm details about the extent of his injury. His history with injuries, specifically from his time at Bournemouth, raises concerns among the team’s coaching staff. Last season, he faced two significant muscle injuries that hampered his performance.
To ensure Sinisterra’s recovery, Cruzeiro has implemented special conditioning regimens, integrating the health and performance departments with physical training. The goal is for him to regain match fitness, particularly since he joined the team after a five-month hiatus from competitive play.
Since making his debut with the team, Sinisterra has participated in three matches, coming off the bench against São Paulo, Atlético-MG, and Bahia. His aim remains to secure a spot on the Colombian national team for the 2026 World Cup.
Aside from Sinisterra, Cruzeiro is also missing midfielder Eduardo, who is unfit due to a fever and gastrointestinal issues. Ryan Guilherme, one of the new signings, has been called up to take his place in the squad. Captain Lucas Silva is set to return to the starting lineup after serving a suspension in the last match.
The team is looking to maintain momentum as they take on Bragantino, aiming for another victory in the 24th round of the Série A.
