Mac Jones Impresses as Jaguars Prepare for Season
Mac Jones concluded his preseason with a strong performance, showcasing his potential as a backup quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Following his transition from the New England Patriots to Jacksonville, Jones has made significant strides in his gameplay.
In the final preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, Jones delivered an impressive performance, completing 13 of 18 pass attempts for 113 yards and one touchdown. This outing has bolstered his case to be the primary backup behind starter Trevor Lawrence.
Head coach Doug Pederson praised Jones for his improvement, noting, ‘Mac has played extremely well the last couple of weeks and really has bought into what we do.’ However, Pederson also mentioned that Jones occasionally falls back into some habits from his time with New England.
As Jones continues to adapt to his new environment, the Jaguars aim to maximize his capabilities in order to ensure a successful season. The coaching staff is focused on helping him eliminate any remnants of his previous playing style while fully integrating into the team’s offensive strategy.
