SEATTLE, Wash. — The 2025 NCAA Tournament has completed the first round of competition, with 68 teams trimmed down to 32 as March Madness gains momentum. The tournament kicked off with thrilling upsets and intense matchups, and the action continues this weekend with 16 more games scheduled to air on CBS Sports and TNT Sports.

The first round concluded on March 21 with several electrifying contests, including a nail-biting victory for No. 9 Baylor over No. 8 Mississippi State, which ended 75-73. Meanwhile, No. 2 Alabama advanced decisively past No. 15 Robert Morris with a score of 90-81, showcasing their title contender potential.

“It was an intense start to the tournament, and the excitement only builds from here,” said CBS announcer Ian Eagle. “We have a packed schedule ahead, and fans can expect nothing less than thrilling basketball.”

Other highlights from the first round included No. 12 Colorado State, which pulled off an upset against No. 5 Memphis, winning 78-70. This unexpected result underscored the unpredictable nature of March Madness, where no match is ever a foregone conclusion.

As the tournament continues into its second round, viewers can tune in for a full slate of games broadcast on CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV. A total of 67 games are scheduled throughout the tournament, ensuring all fans can follow the action as it unfolds.

Leading the broadcasting team for this year’s tournament are familiar voices from CBS Sports. Ian Eagle returns for the second consecutive season as the lead play-by-play announcer, joined by analysts Bill Raftery and Grant Hill, with Tracy Wolfson reporting from the courtside. New to the team is former Michigan player Jalen Rose, who will provide analysis on the first two rounds of the tournament.
