Magic Triumph Over Hawks with Strong Team Effort

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic secured a hard-fought 119-112 victory against the Atlanta Hawks on April 8, 2025, showcasing a balanced offensive attack led by Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr.
Wagner scored 22 points, shooting 40% from the field (8-for-20) and adding six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block. His performance extended his streak of scoring at least 20 points in every game since March 16.
“I just try to contribute however I can on both ends of the floor,” Wagner said post-game. “It feels great to be consistent and help my team win.”
Carter also made significant contributions, finishing the game with 17 points (6-for-9 field goals, 1-for-3 three-pointers), nine rebounds, two assists, and establishing a new season high with six steals and three blocks. He played 37 minutes during the contest.
“Wendell was a game-changer for us tonight,” Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. “His defensive presence and versatility really turned the tide in our favor.”
Over the last ten games, Carter has been averaging 10.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and nearly one steal and 1.3 blocks per game. His contributions were crucial in clinching the win for the Magic against a determined Hawks team.
With both teams battling for playoff positioning, this victory added valuable momentum for the Magic as they continue their push toward a postseason berth.
