Mallory Swanson Announces Pregnancy Amid Congratulations from Sports Community

CHICAGO, IL — Mallory Swanson, a key player for the United States women’s national soccer team, announced she is expecting her first child with husband Dansby Swanson, a shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. She made the announcement on social media on Wednesday, sharing heartfelt photos of the couple holding hands and ultrasound images.

Dansby, who signed a 7-year, $177 million contract with the Cubs in December 2022, expressed his happiness about living in the same city as Mallory. At his introductory press conference, he said, “It means the world for me to be able to be here with her. Obviously, we just got married…Being able to serve our purpose together in God’s kingdom means a lot to each of us, and to do that in the same city is pretty amazing.”
