Manchester United is on the brink of a significant recruitment milestone as talks to bring former Chelsea technical director, Christopher Vivell, into the fold gather pace at Old Trafford.

The 37-year-old Vivell, who most recently worked at Chelsea and has experience at RB Leipzig, is set to join United on a short-term contract to bolster their recruitment efforts for the upcoming transfer windows.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s arrival at the club, several changes have taken place, including the recent appointment of Dan Ashworth, pointing to a new era of strategic recruitment at United.

According to reports from Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the deal with Christopher Vivell is close to completion pending some minor formalities, with the intention being to tap into Vivell’s expertise in player talent identification.

Christopher Vivell’s brief stint at Chelsea between December 2022 and July 2023 saw him involved in recruitment operations before his departure following further changes at Stamford Bridge under Todd Boehly‘s ownership.

The German talent scout also boasts experience at RB Leipzig, a club known for its fruitful recruitment strategies, making him a valuable addition for Manchester United as they aim to strengthen their squad.

The prospective arrival of Vivell at Old Trafford aligns with United’s reported interest in players like Jarrad Branthwaite, Leny Yoro, and Matthijs de Ligt, indicating a proactive approach to bolstering their defensive options.

With INEOS owning a stake in the club and looking to revamp the backroom staff, Christopher Vivell’s appointment could signal a new chapter in United’s recruitment strategy with an emphasis on long-term success.
