Manchester United‘s pre-season training is in full swing at Carrington, led by manager Erik ten Hag. A cohort of senior players, including Andre Onana, Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Marcus Rashford, have returned and are geared up for the upcoming season.

Jadon Sancho, fresh off his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, rejoined the squad after undergoing testing and training following his return on Wednesday. The 24-year-old forward, who trained with the team on Thursday, is poised for a promising season with Manchester United.

The squad is currently brimming with Academy players in light of ongoing competitions such as Euro 2024 and Copa America, as well as players on leave who participated in these tournaments. Among these Academy talents is a new signee, reinforcing the team’s depth ahead of the new season.

This season, the team is utilizing alternative facilities due to ongoing renovations at the usual training center, aiming to upgrade the training environment for the players.

In a recent development, Rene Meulensteen and Ruud van Nistelrooy were appointed as assistant managers to the men’s first team under Erik ten Hag until June 2026. The new additions are set to inject fresh energy, experience, and expertise into the coaching staff as the team strives for continued success.

Manchester United’s first pre-season friendly is scheduled against Rosenborg on Monday at 17:00 BST, followed by upcoming matches against Rangers, Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool, providing an early test for the team ahead of the new season.

Furthermore, Jonny Evans, the 36-year-old defender and Manchester United academy graduate, extended his stay at the club by signing a one-year contract for the 2024-25 season. Evans, who returned to the club last year after stints with West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City, expressed his excitement to continue representing the club and aiming for more silverware in the upcoming season, drawing on past successes.
