Manchester United lifted the Snapdragon Cup after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Real Betis in San Diego. It was a comeback win for the Red Devils after Iker Losada put Betis ahead early on.

Despite falling behind against the run of play, United showcased their strength by scoring three goals within just 13 minutes during the first half. Marcus Rashford equalized from the penalty spot, followed by a stunning strike from Amad, and a close-range goal from Casemiro to make it 3-1.

Real Betis managed to bring the score closer with a goal from Diego Llorente in the second half, but United was in control for most of the match, allowing manager Erik ten Hag to give valuable playing time to many squad members.

Next up for United is a highly anticipated clash with rivals Liverpool in South Carolina, capping off their Tour 2024 presented by Snapdragon.

Initially, it seemed like United would have an ideal start when Jadon Sancho scored in the fifth minute, but the goal was waved off for offside. Instead, Real Betis struck first when rodri set up Losada for an easy tap-in after a scramble in the box.

However, not deterred by going a goal down, United quickly sprang into action. Amad was brought down in the box, leading to a penalty that Rashford confidently converted, leveling the match at 1-1.

The Reds then took the lead with a wonderful strike from Amad after a clever cross from Harry Amass. Casemiro added a third shortly after, tapping in from a corner and putting United in a strong position.

In the second half, Ten Hag made two changes, bringing in Jonny Evans and Will Fish. The game lost some of its early intensity, but McTominay nearly extended the lead with a close-range effort saved by the Betis keeper.

Rashford later went down after a challenge but managed to continue for a bit before Llorente’s header brought Betis back into the game. Even with a strong push, Betis couldn’t find the equalizer as United held on for the win.

The match served as a vital test for United as they prepare to face Liverpool next, especially after seeing injuries to key players before the match.
