Manny Pacquiao Mario Barrios Boxing Match

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Manny Pacquiao is officially making a comeback. The boxing legend will face WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on Saturday, July 19, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in a highly anticipated fight. The event will be available live on pay-per-view, kicking off at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.

At 45 years old, Pacquiao aims to reclaim a world title, insisting he is not on a farewell tour. “I want to inspire the young generation who are dreaming of becoming a champion,” he said at a press conference. The Filipino icon expressed confidence, declaring, “Pacquiao always gives surprises.”

Barrios, however, is ready to defend his title and doesn’t view Pacquiao as a legend inside the ring. “I’m the champion for a reason,” the 29-year-old said. “He’s got the name, but I’ve got the belt.” Barrios is eager for this bout, calling it the biggest fight of his career.

The fight card also features exciting undercard matchups. In the co-main event, Sebastian Fundora will face Tim Tszyu in a rematch after their thrilling first encounter. Fundora predicted that this fight wouldn’t go the distance, while Tszyu promised to rectify his past mistakes. They both displayed the same intensity and fierceness that fans expect.

Isaac Cruz will look to dominate Angel Fierro again after winning their previous bout. Cruz stated, “He says I don’t have a chin, but I still beat him,” while Fierro is ready for redemption.

Brandon Figueroa will compete against Joet Gonzalez in an opening bout that promises action. Figueroa expressed his determination to entertain fans, saying, “I just want to be more active this year.”

If Pacquiao wins, he will become the oldest welterweight champion, adding another milestone to his already legendary career. Conversely, a victory for Barrios would solidify his status in the boxing world. Fans eagerly anticipate the bout, questioning whether the former champion still has what it takes to compete at this level.
