Mariners Vs Angels Baseball Matchup April 2025

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Mariners are set to face off against the Anaheim Angels in a two-game series beginning Tuesday evening, April 29, 2025. After a rocky start to the season, the Mariners have surged to the top of the AL West, while the Angels are struggling significantly.

Starting the season with a dismal 3-7 record, the Mariners turned things around, winning 13 of their last 18 games to improve their record to 16-12. They now lead the AL West, winning six consecutive series, including five victories over the Texas Rangers. Mariners’ players attribute their recent success to a combination of solid team cohesion and strong performances from their lineup.

“We’ve rediscovered our rhythm at the plate, and our starting pitching has been key,” said a Mariners player. “We know the first ten games were tough, but we’re focused on building our momentum.”

However, the Mariners face challenges ahead, including injuries to their roster. Dylan Moore has been placed on the Injured List with hip inflammation, and Luke Raley has been scratched from today’s lineup. In his place, Miles Mastrobuoni will start in right field.

Meanwhile, the Angels, who began the season strong at 7-3, have since fallen to last place in the division with a record of 12-15. They have lost 12 of their last 17 games and recently suffered a sweep against the Minnesota Twins. Despite having star players like Mike Trout, the team struggles rank among the lowest in the league in hitting, fielding, and pitching.

“It’s frustrating how we’ve been performing lately,” an Angels representative stated. “We need to find a way to turn things around quickly or these losses will pile up.”

In their upcoming games, both teams aim to capitalize on their opponent’s weaknesses. Mariners’ pitcher Bryce Miller will take the mound against the Angels’ Jack Kochanowicz, who has a 5.47 ERA. Miller, known for his strikeout potential, may thrive against the Angels’ high strikeout rate.

The first game is set for 6:40 PM Pacific Time, and fans can catch the action on ROOT Sports NW.
