Yankees Mariners Game Max Fried

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Mariners are looking to break a losing streak tonight as they face off against the New York Yankees. The Yankees will send their ace, Max Fried, to the mound. Fried currently leads Major League Baseball in earned run average (ERA).

Seattle’s offense has been struggling to score runs over the past week, which poses a challenge as they take on Fried. The Mariners will counter with their own ace, Bryan Woo, who is expected to perform well against a tough opponent.

Notably, Jorge Polanco will not be in the lineup tonight due to the lefty pitcher. Instead, Mitch Garver will serve as the designated hitter. In an interesting move, lefty specialist Dylan Moore will bat sixth, while J.P. Crawford is slated to lead off the game.

Mariners pitcher George Gilbert‘s bullpen session went positively, as he threw at up to 90 percent intensity and reached speeds of 92-93 mph, demonstrating confidence in his pitch arsenal. Shannon Drayer tweeted, “Threw all his pitches.”

On the hitting side, Julio Rodríguez has been experiencing a hot streak. Manager Scott Wilson commented on Rodríguez’s recent performance, saying, “He has really swung the bat well. He has not struck out very much, and he has found a lot of barrels.” Rodríguez hit a home run last night, showing his ability to drive the ball effectively.

Tonight’s game is set to start at 6:40 PM PT, available on ROOT Sports Northwest with Aaron Goldsmith and Angie Mentink covering the action. Fans can listen to the game on 710 AM Seattle Sports, featuring the commentary of Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr.
