Mario Guerrero to Miss Mazatlán Match, Aiming for Quick Return

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO — Mario Guerrero, the champion and former Real Madrid star, has made headlines after joining the Mexican club Rayados. His debut match against Atlético de San Luis on February 25 ended in a victory, but fans will have to wait to see him in action again as he will not participate in the upcoming game against Mazatlán.
At 38 years old, Guerrero’s medical team and coaching staff have decided that he will take a break to continue his recovery process after suffering from an injury that sidelined him for eight months. The decision comes amidst a hectic schedule, including travel and his recent debut. The staff concluded that it was best for Guerrero not to fly to Mazatlán.
Guerrero showcased his skills in his first match, playing 80 minutes, winning three aerial duels, one ground duel, and clearing four balls. With an impressive pass accuracy of 93%, he earned a score of 7.6 on the analytics site Sofascore. Despite his absence, fans are optimistic for his return, which is slated for March 2 during the 10th match day against Santos, where he is expected to start and wear the captain’s armband.
Alongside Guerrero, his teammate Oliver Torres will also miss the match against Mazatlán. Although the reasons were not disclosed, reports from Claro Sports confirmed his absence. Torres was notably instrumental in Guerrero’s debut, scoring the second goal of the match.
Fans eagerly await Guerrero’s return to the field, looking forward to more moments that showcase his legendary talent and leadership for Rayados.
