Mark Henry Addresses AEW Departure, Future Champions in Wrestling

April 14, 2025 – ATLANTA, GA – WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently commented on his departure from All Elite Wrestling (AEW), expressing mixed feelings about his time with the organization. During a recent interview, Henry stated he enjoyed his experience, yet is reluctant to discuss the circumstances surrounding his exit.
“You know what? I had a good time at AEW despite the fact there were a couple of incidents that I won’t talk about unless they start talking about it,” Henry said. He added that discussing these issues would lead to him criticizing the company. However, he didn’t wish to dwell on negativity, emphasizing the positive connections he made while with AEW.
Henry reflected on the talent he encountered during his tenure. “I met a lot of really cool people, some unbelievable talent. And I have a lot of respect for people in that organization, and I wish them well,” he said. When asked if AEW or any wrestling company could improve, Henry suggested that improvements are needed across the board, not singling out any particular organization.
“I think everybody can do stuff better,” he remarked. “But there’s no singling out. There’s a lot of stuff that people at WWE should be doing better. You can’t broad stroke, poke the finger at one company.”
In a separate interview held on April 15, Henry also discussed the rivalry between Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano, noting that he believes Chad Gable is destined to become a future World Champion. “I would put him in the top 10 of the most athletic and strongest guys in WWE, pound for pound,” he stated, urging fans to keep an eye on Gable, especially during the upcoming WrestleMania event.
“I can see him being a world champion,” Henry asserted. “I think that his destiny is just that he will be a world champion one day. I don’t know what his play is or what’s next for him. But I’m sure that WrestleMania will tell us a lot.”
Reportedly, Henry’s comments have sparked discussions among wrestling fans and industry analysts about the state of promotions and their talent management moving forward.
