French club Marseille has intensified their efforts in the pursuit of Manchester United‘s Mason Greenwood, by submitting a formal transfer bid. The 22-year-old forward has been in discussions with the club’s football leadership team as he seeks an exit from Old Trafford.

Greenwood, who reported to United’s training ground on Monday morning, engaged in constructive dialogue but did not participate in training, signaling a potential departure from the club. Marseille, along with Italian side Lazio, have made firm offers and are currently in advanced negotiations with Manchester United.

Recently loaned to Spanish club Real Sociedad, Greenwood’s impressive performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe. Apart from Marseille and Lazio, Benfica, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Sporting Lisbon have also expressed interest in acquiring the young talent.

The English forward’s future has been uncertain since his suspension following allegations in January 2022. However, the Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the case against him, leading to increased transfer speculation surrounding Greenwood.

Manchester United remains open to various options for Greenwood, including a potential sale or loan move. With 35 goals in 129 appearances for the Premier League giants, Greenwood’s departure could reshape the club’s attacking line-up significantly.
