HOLLYWOOD, CA — Martin Short recently discussed possible new adventures for his famous character, Jiminy Glick, who mocked Hollywood’s elite with his outrageous antics.

In a recent interview, Short hinted at a fresh take for Glick, moving away from celebrity culture and targeting political figures. He proposed a potential film titled ‘Mr. Glick Goes to Washington.’ Short stated, “Everyone in that world has an element of absurdity. When you see the news now, you can’t get broader than Marjorie Taylor Greene. You couldn’t create a character broader than that.”

Despite Jiminy Glick’s last major appearances being over a decade ago, Short remains optimistic about his return. “Comedy’s subjective. Some people love Jiminy and some people hate Jiminy,” he said, emphasizing the character’s controversial nature.

Glick first made his mark on ‘The Martin Short Show’ and later starred in ‘Primetime Glick,’ which ran for three seasons on Comedy Central. He also had a film, ‘Jiminy Glick in Lalawood,’ released in 2004. Fans remember Glick’s absurd sense of humor, such as when he once asked Mel Brooks about his feelings on Nazis.

Short reflected, “In the world of obsessive P.C., Jiminy just saying whatever he wants, as outlandish as that can be, would be cathartic.” He believes the character’s reckless humor may resonate again, despite the changing times.

With this fresh perspective, fans are left wondering—how will Jiminy Glick adapt to the current landscape of comedy and politics?
