Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Fall Rankings

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) released its latest power rankings for the fall sports season on Tuesday. The rankings cover various sports, including field hockey, football, volleyball, and boys’ and girls’ soccer.

In football, the MIAA has determined that the top 16 teams in each division with at least three wins and seven games played will qualify for the playoffs. Currently leading the rankings is St. John’s Prep, boasting a perfect record of 6-0 and an impressive average margin of victory of 11.83 points.

Following closely is Springfield Central, with a record of 5-1, achieving a margin of victory average of 0.50. Xaverian Brothers and Natick round out the top four with records of 4-2 and 5-1 respectively. The competition intensifies as teams push for playoff eligibility in the final weeks of the regular season.

The MIAA also released rankings for field hockey, stating the top 32 teams, as well as those with a winning record, will qualify for the postseason. Walpole leads the field hockey rankings with a record of 10-2, while Wellesley and Franklin follow closely behind.

In boys’ soccer, St. John's Prep maintains the top spot with a magnificent record of 12-1-1. Needham and Newton South complete the top three positions, indicating a competitive atmosphere in the league.

As the season progresses, teams are eager to solidify their standings for a chance at playoff glory, with all eyes on October’s playoffs.
