Match Official Appointments for Rugby Matches from October 4-6, 2024

Match official appointments have been scheduled for the upcoming rugby matches taking place from October 4 to October 6, 2024. These appointments include high-profile fixtures in the WXV tournaments, the Vodacom United Rugby Championship (URC), and various junior and local rugby series.

For the WXV 1 tournament, Aimee Barrett-Theron from South Africa has been appointed to oversee the clash between Canada and Ireland on October 6 at the Langley Event Centre in Langley. She will be assisted by Sara Cox and Aurelie Groizeleau, with Andrew McMenemy serving as the Television Match Official (TMO).

Additional WXV fixtures include the USA facing France, refereed by Julianne Zussman, and New Zealand against England, with Kat Roche officiating, both at the Langley Event Centre on October 5 and October 6, respectively.

In the WXV 2 matches in Cape Town, referees include Ella Goldsmith for the Wales vs Italy match, Zoe Naude for Japan’s game against Scotland, and Precious Pazani for South Africa’s encounter with Australia. All matches will take place at Athlone Stadium with specific assistant referees and TMOs designated for each fixture.

The WXV 3 tournament will be hosted in Dubai, with referees such as Shanda Assmus, Holly Wood, and Jess Ling overseeing matches between teams like Madagascar, Hong Kong China, Fiji, Samoa, Netherlands, and Spain.

The Vodacom United Rugby Championship continues with the third round where referees include Marius van der Westhuizen for Scarlets vs Connacht, Morne Ferreira for Cardiff vs Glasgow Warriors, and Andrew Brace for Dragons vs Hollywoodbets Sharks among others. These matches will span locations in South Africa, Wales, Italy, and Ireland.

Also scheduled are the SA Rugby U21 Cup and U19 Cup matches at venues in South Africa like Loftus Versfeld, Toyota Stadium, and Kings Park. Referees such as Dylen November and Hernus Coetzee have been appointed to officiate these fixtures.

The Toyota Challenge and the African Rainbow Community Gold Cup quarter-finals will also see seasoned referees in action, with matches at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein and various community clubs.
