Mater Dei High School, with campuses in both Breese, Illinois, and Santa Ana, California, has been making significant waves in the world of high school football. The Santa Ana, California, team, known as the Mater Dei Monarchs, has continued its impressive winning streak.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Mater Dei Monarchs secured a decisive victory against Sierra Canyon High School with a score of 33-13. This win extended their home winning streak and solidified their position as one of the top-ranked teams in the country.

The team’s dominance is further highlighted by their recent performance against Orange Lutheran, where they won 38-14, extending their winning streak to 14 games. The Monarchs are currently ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings and are favored to perform well in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoff bracket.

In contrast, the Mater Dei Knights from Breese, Illinois, while not as nationally prominent, have their own athletic achievements. The team is led by Head Coach Jim Stiebel, who has been instrumental in guiding the Knights through their football season. However, recent specific match results for the Illinois team are not as widely reported as those of their California counterparts.
