Dallas Mavericks Basketball Game Injury

DALLAS, Texas — Dallas Mavericks forward Caleb Martin has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to a hip injury. After missing three months of action, Martin played five consecutive games for Dallas following his debut on March 7, but will not take the court this Sunday.

Martin, 29, had previously suffered from a hip issue dating back to his time with Philadelphia. His absence comes at a critical moment for the Mavericks, who will have only eight healthy players available against the 76ers.

With Martin sidelined, the Mavericks will rely heavily on players like Brandon Williams, Max Christie, Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Spencer Dinwiddie to carry the workload against Philadelphia. Coach Jason Kidd acknowledged the team’s challenges, expressing confidence in his remaining roster. “We will step up and fill the gaps as best we can,” Kidd said.

The Mavericks will next face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, where Martin may have the opportunity to return to the lineup. However, team officials have not confirmed any details regarding his status for that game.

In addition to Martin’s absence, the team is also managing other injuries. While several players will have an expanded role, it remains critical for the Mavericks to maintain their competitive edge in a tight playoff race.
