LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Rookie Max Christie made a brief appearance in Sunday’s 116-102 win for the Los Angeles Clippers over the Lakers, playing the final 27 seconds alongside his older brother, Lakers wing Max Christie. The younger Christie, a second-round pick, scored one point on free throws but recorded no other statistics.

The game marked a rare moment for the Christie brothers, who shared the court for the first time in an NBA game. Max Christie, who has primarily played with the G League’s San Diego Clippers this season, was not recalled for the Lakers game despite sitting out the G League’s recent loss to the Capital City Go-Go on Thursday due to an elbow injury.

“It was a special moment for both of them,” said a Clippers spokesperson. “Max got the opportunity to play in the final minute, and it was meaningful for him to share the court with his brother.”

Christie’s NBA playing time has been limited this season, with most of his development occurring in the G League. His older brother, Max Christie, has been a more consistent presence for the Lakers, averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season.

The younger Christie is expected to return to the G League soon, where he will continue to develop his skills. “He’s working hard and making progress,” said Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue. “We’re excited about his potential.”

Sunday’s game also highlighted the Clippers’ strong performance, with key contributions from Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, who combined for 52 points. The Lakers, meanwhile, struggled to contain the Clippers’ offense, despite a solid outing from LeBron James, who finished with 28 points and 9 assists.

The Christie brothers’ brief moment on the court together was a rare highlight in an otherwise routine game. “It’s something they’ll both remember for a long time,” said Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.
