Menaka Irani, Mother of Farah and Sajid Khan, Passes Away at 79

Menaka Irani, the beloved mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, has sadly passed away at the age of 79. The news comes just days after Farah shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to celebrate her mother’s 79th birthday, revealing that Menaka had undergone multiple surgeries recently.

Menaka Irani was known not only for being a supportive mother to her children but also as the sister of former actors Honey Irani and Daisy Irani. A source close to the family shared that Menaka passed away at Sajid Khan’s residence in suburban Mumbai after battling a prolonged illness.

In a show of support and love, several celebrities visited Farah’s house to pay their last respects to the Bollywood veteran. Among those spotted were Salim Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Sanjay Kapoor, along with other personalities such as Maniesh Paul, Fardeen Khan, Vikram Phadnis, Shoaib Ibrahim, Shiv Thakare, and Bhushan Kumar.

Just two weeks ago, on July 12, Menaka celebrated her 79th birthday. Her children, Farah and Sajid, both shared touching social media posts to mark the occasion, expressing love and admiration for their mother. They mentioned that she had just returned home from the hospital after undergoing several operations.

In her post, Farah Khan candidly expressed how she had taken her mother for granted in the past and highlighted Menaka’s strength and humor, even after facing health challenges. Farah wrote, ‘This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom Menka.’ She also looked forward to when her mother would be strong enough to resume their usual playful banter.

Sajid Khan also took to social media to share a heartfelt birthday message for Menaka, simply stating, ‘Happy Birthday Mummy…’ It is clear that she was not just a mother, but also a significant figure in the lives of many in the Bollywood industry.
