Mexico National Football Team Friendlies Japan South Korea

Ciudad de México, México — The Mexican national soccer team announced on Tuesday that it will face Japan and South Korea during the FIFA date in September. These friendly matches are part of their preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

The Mexican Football Federation reported that the match against Japan will take place on September 6 at Alameda County Stadium in Oakland. Three days later, Mexico will challenge South Korea at a venue that has yet to be determined.

Javier Aguirre, the Mexican coach, is finalizing the roster that will represent the country in the World Cup, which Mexico is co-hosting with the United States and Canada. Aguirre, in his third stint with the national team, recently celebrated winning the Concacaf Nations League for the first time this past March.

The former Atlético de Madrid coach took charge of the national team in September and has had a successful run with five wins, one draw, and one loss in seven matches.

As preparations continue, the team aims to build on its recent successes and strengthen its lineup ahead of the World Cup.
