Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2025

MIAMI, Florida – The Formula 1 World Championship returns to the United States this weekend for the fourth annual Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, kicking off on May 2. This marks the first of three races held in America this season, with Sunday’s Grand Prix being the sixth event of the 2025 calendar.

The race weekend will be broadcast live in the Caribbean on ESPN2 and ESPN on Disney+, starting on Friday at 12:25 p.m. with Practice 1. Coverage will include a Sprint Race on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Major storylines include McLaren leading the championship standings, with drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris performing exceptionally well. Notably, Ferrari will debut a new white livery for the race. The Miami heat is expected to provide an additional challenge for drivers, intensifying the competition.

The action-packed schedule for the Miami Grand Prix kicks off with Practice 1 on May 2, followed by Sprint Qualifying that afternoon. On Saturday, the Sprint Race and Qualifying for the Grand Prix are set to take place, culminating in the main event on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Set around the Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami International Autodrome features a unique 19-corner street course spanning over three miles. The temporary track comes alive each year for this event and is swiftly dismantled after the race weekend, returning the area to public use.

McLaren’s early dominance in the season is highlighted by four wins, three by Piastri and one for Norris, both among the favorites for the Miami race. Last year, Norris secured his first victory there, while Piastri aims to improve on his 13th-place finish following late damage.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull, the reigning four-time champion, is also in the spotlight. Despite Red Bull’s slower pace this year, Verstappen has delivered a win and three podium finishes so far. Meanwhile, George Russell of Mercedes and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari are also eyeing podium spots.

Weather reports suggest a potential 50% chance of rain on Sunday, along with scattered thunderstorms, which could affect race strategies. As anticipation builds, the Miami Grand Prix promises an exciting weekend for racing fans and participants alike.
