Charles Woodson Jr. Michigan Football Offer

Ann Arbor, Michigan — Michigan’s football program has extended a scholarship offer to Charles Woodson Jr., a rising high school junior and son of Wolverines legend Charles Woodson. The announcement came via social media on Wednesday, where Woodson Jr. expressed his excitement about the opportunity, tweeting, “Blessed to receive an offer from Michigan!!!!”

Woodson Jr., a 5-foot-11, 160-pound safety from Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida, is a highly regarded prospect in the Class of 2027. He is currently ranked as the No. 31 safety and No. 284 overall player by On3, a composite ranking service.

His father, Charles Woodson, won the Heisman Trophy in 1997 during his illustrious career at Michigan, where he was a standout defensive player and earned All-American honors. The elder Woodson was later selected fourth overall in the 1998 NFL Draft and enjoyed an 18-year career in the league.

Last season, Woodson Jr. made significant contributions for Lake Nona, recording 53 tackles, one interception, and two pass breakups. He began his recruitment earlier this year and has received offers from several Division I programs, including Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Florida State.

Michigan does not currently have any commitments in the 2027 class. As of now, the program is focusing on building its roster, which includes three pledges for the 2026 class. Woodson Jr. has participated in camps with Michigan over the past two summers, enhancing his visibility and connections with the coaching staff.

Woodson Jr. is more than just a familiar name; he has shown promise on the field. His head coach at Lake Nona, David Aubrey, praised his natural talent, work ethic, and leadership. “Charles embodies the qualities every coach looks for in a standout player,” Aubrey said. “His ability to cover sideline to sideline, combined with his football IQ, makes him a versatile and impactful player.”

The Michigan coaching staff, led by secondary coach, have taken note of his progress as he prepares for his junior season. As schools compete for his talent, fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how Woodson Jr. develops in the upcoming year.
