Mikel Arteta Denies Rumours of Leaving Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dismissed recent speculation surrounding his future at the club, stating that he has no plans to leave at the end of the season. The Spaniard’s name has been linked to the vacant Barcelona job, but he remains committed to his contract at Arsenal, which runs until 2025.
Spanish publication Diario AS reported that Arteta had informed his entourage about his willingness to leave Arsenal after this season, following the departure of Xavi from Barcelona. However, Arteta has denied these rumors and asserts his dedication to the Gunners.
The 41-year-old former Arsenal player took charge of the club in December 2019, succeeding Unai Emery. Prior to his managerial role, Arteta had served as a member of Pep Guardiola‘s coaching staff at Manchester City.
Arteta’s tenure has seen some ups and downs, but he achieved notable success by guiding Arsenal to an FA Cup victory in August 2020. He also managed to secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League this season, ending the club’s six-year absence from the prestigious competition.
The transfer window is currently open, and Arsenal fans will be keen to see whether Arteta brings in any new additions to strengthen the squad. However, amidst the recent rumors, the focus remains on Arteta’s commitment to the club.
While the speculation around Arteta’s future continues, for now, the manager remains determined to lead Arsenal forward. The next challenge for him and his team is to maintain their recent form and continue their pursuit of success in both domestic and European competitions.
