Milan Players Training Before Genoa Match

MILAN, Italy (May 4, 2025) — AC Milan prepares to face Genoa on Monday night at the Stadio Ferraris, but the team is grappling with injuries to key players. Coach Sergio Conceição confirmed that Tammy Abraham, Riccardo Sottil, and Warren Bondo will not be available due to health issues.

Abraham, 27, is dealing with a fatigue issue in his right hamstring and will be reassessed in the next 24 hours. Sottil has a strain in his right external obturator, while Bondo has suffered a right ankle sprain.

“Injuries are part of the game, but we have to focus on the players who are available,” Conceição said at a press conference. “We are looking to consolidate our formation and give a solid performance.”

With Abraham out, Luka Jovic, although not at full fitness, is expected to start alongside Jimenez, Leao, and Pulisic in a 3-4-3 formation. This is crucial as Milan aims to boost its hopes for a European position in the league.

Conceição emphasized the importance of consistency in their tactical approach. “We need to improve daily on both offensive and defensive aspects of our game,” he stated. “As we approach the final matches of the season, every point is vital.”

While Milan currently trails Genoa by 15 points in the standings, the match carries significance for both teams. Milan looks to secure three points to keep their European aspirations alive, while Genoa hopes to perform well at home.
