Milos Raonic Withdraws Due To Injury In Rotterdam Quarterfinals

Canada’s Milos Raonic has withdrawn from the ABN Amro Open tennis tournament quarterfinals in Rotterdam due to an injury, leaving the match against top seed Jannik Sinner.

Raonic was trailing 7-6 (4), 1-1 when he opted to exit the match after securing a hold to even the second set.

The 33-year-old Raonic, hailing from Thornhill, Ontario, made a return to the ATP Tour last year following a prolonged absence due to injury.

Seeking to advance to his first semifinal since the 2020 Paris Masters, Raonic arrived in Rotterdam ranked 309th in the world and showcased glimpses of his peak form against world No. 4 Sinner.

During the match, Raonic managed to fire 11 aces past the Italian before having to retire due to his injury.

This update by The Canadian Press was initially released on February 16, 2024.
