Pizzeria Lola Korean Inspired Wood Fired Pizza

Minneapolis, Minnesota — Pizzeria Lola, a Korean-inspired wood-fired pizza restaurant, has gained popularity as a top dining spot for locals and visitors alike. Recently, I had the chance to experience its unique offerings while catching a flight for Spring Break.

On my trip to the airport, I parked at a friend’s house and took his recommendation to dine at Pizzeria Lola, a place renowned for its inventive pizza creations. One visit prior solidified its reputation in my mind, as I had previously written about its accolades from critics and influencers.

The menu features pizzas with flavors that blend traditional and Korean cuisine, such as the Korean BBQ pizza with beef short ribs and the Lady Zaza, topped with Korean sausage and napa kimchi. Other options include the Tavern Pie, which combines pepperoni with jalapeno and honey, and My Sharoni, boasting pepperoni and fennel sausage. Given my time constraints, I chose My Sharoni on a gluten-free crust, made fresh in-house.

My friend opted for the Tavern Pie, and we visited during the busy lunchtime rush. Despite the crowd, the service was quick and efficient. As I sunk my teeth into the My Sharoni, it was clear why Guy Fieri has praised this spot. The gluten-free crust was remarkably flavorful, while the pepperoni cups and fennel sausage added a delightful depth to the pizza. My rating? A perfect 10 out of 10.

My friend’s Tavern Pie didn’t disappoint either, and I noted the intriguing trend of drizzling honey on pizza—something I’m eager to try again. However, be aware that dining at Pizzeria Lola can be a bit pricey; our lunch totaled approximately $70 for two pizzas and two sodas. While the quality justified the cost, budgeting is advisable.

The ambiance of Pizzeria Lola further enhances the experience, with a striking brick oven situated centrally in the restaurant, adding a unique charm to the establishment. For food enthusiasts visiting Minneapolis, Pizzeria Lola is definitely worth a visit.
