Minnesota Twins Prepare for Baltimore Series After Big Wins

Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Twins are gearing up for their upcoming game against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. After a successful sweep of the San Francisco Giants at Target Field, the team is taking an early flight to ensure everyone is settled ahead of their next challenge.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli emphasized the importance of acclimating players on the road. “We’ve done that since I’ve been here,” Baldelli said. “Whatever they want to do is fine. This game doesn’t give us much time to relax, so getting a good night’s sleep is important.”
While players are not required to leave early, first baseman Ty France opted to fly commercially to maximize time at home. In contrast, pitcher Jhoan Duran is flying his family to Maryland to spend his off day with them.
Balancing family life with the demands of a professional baseball career can be challenging. “I didn’t have kids when I played, so I couldn’t honestly imagine that challenge,” Baldelli noted. “Getting a couple of good nights’ sleep on the road is probably a good thing.”
The team also faces a setback with righthander Danny Coulombe, who will be placed back on the injured list due to biceps tendinitis. Baldelli indicated that Coulombe might need an injection and could be down for some time while he recovers.
In the recent series, the Giants struggled as former Twin LaMonte Wade Jr. completed a hitless weekend at Target Field, batting just 5-for-30 against his old team.
During the series, the game was briefly interrupted by a disagreement over the pitch clock rules, leading to some mild arguing between Baldelli and the umpires. Giants manager Bob Melvin was also ejected for disputing a call.
In addition, catcher Christian Vázquez reflected on his defensive play during the 2-1 win over the Giants. His throw to third base to tag out a runner was highlighted as a pivotal moment. “It’s huge. Every time you can put something on the table for the team to win, it’s huge,” Vázquez said.
With the Twins riding an impressive eight-game winning streak, excitement builds as they head into a pivotal three-game series against the Orioles, looking to maintain their momentum.
