BALTIMORE — The Minnesota Twins continued to dominate as they swept a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, winning both games 6-3 and 8-6. With this victory, the Twins extended their winning streak to 10 games, the longest in Major League Baseball this season.

The Twins faced challenges during the doubleheader, losing key players and manager Rocco Baldelli, who was sidelined due to illness. Bench coach Jayce Tingler filled in for Baldelli. ‘You use all your relievers in two games. Nobody gave up a run. They kept us in games,’ Tingler commented.

In the first game, the Twins overcame an early 3-0 deficit thanks to a three-run homer by Christian Vázquez in the fourth inning. The Orioles briefly took a lead in the second game, scoring six runs in the third inning, but the Twins rallied again.

Kody Clemens made a critical impact in the eighth inning of the second game, hitting a three-run homer that put Minnesota ahead. ‘That was a battle today. This team keeps passing the baton to one another,’ Clemens said, reflecting on the team’s performance.

The Twins’ bullpen was a standout, combining for 9⅓ scoreless innings throughout the doubleheader, handling the pressure with remarkable efficiency.

Despite the loss, the Orioles managed a grand slam from Cedric Mullins during their strong third inning. However, Baltimore’s struggles continued as they fell to 11 games under .500, a significant decline for a team that finished above that mark last season.

With this series, the Twins solidify their potential to contend strongly this season as they prepare to face the Orioles again in the series finale.
