The Minnesota Wild made moves to bolster their defensive unit by signing three players to one-year contracts. In an announcement on Tuesday, the team confirmed the acquisitions of Dakota Mermis, Philip Myers, and Maxime Paire, all on deals worth $775,000 each.

The Alton, Illinois native has previously played for teams like the New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, and San Jose Sharks, accumulating four goals and 12 points in his 74-game NHL career.

Philip Myers, hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick, brings his experience from previous stints with the Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche. Although Myers only played five games in the last season, he has demonstrated his reliability over 158 NHL games, recording eight goals and 36 points.

Maxime Paire, a prospect selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft, is yet to make an appearance in the NHL. However, his performance with the AHL‘s Colorado Eagles last season was impressive, scoring 14 goals and tallying 35 points in 61 games.
