DOHA, Qatar — Former AEW TNT Champion Miro returned to the ring this weekend for the first time in nearly 14 months, taking part in Qatar Pro-Wrestling’s Super Slam III event.

The event, held on February 22, 2025, featured Miro squaring off against former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, who is currently known as Alberto El Patron and holds the AAA MEGA Championship. Miro last competed at the 2023 AEW World’s End pay-per-view, where he defeated Andrade, marking the end of Andrade’s time in AEW before transitioning to WWE.

LuchaLibreOnline shared images from the event on X, announcing that the event will air on March 2 via TrillerTV, the rebranded platform previously known as FITE TV. Alongside Miro and Del Rio, other notable wrestlers, including Mick Foley, Matt Cardona, Nic Nemeth, and Mustafa Ali, were also in attendance.

There are ongoing speculations regarding Miro’s future, with reports suggesting he may be making his way to WWE soon. This latest match marks a significant comeback for Miro, who faced various challenges during his time in AEW, including injury setbacks and personal struggles.

In another comeback story, former WWE star Ezekiel Jackson announced he will step back into the ring for the first time in almost a decade. He is set to compete for FWE in North Carolina on March 15. Jackson, a one-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, expressed his desire to make a strong return. “I keep asking myself if I ended my career the way I wanted to, and for the most part, I didn’t,” he stated. “So, I’ve always had that little chip on my shoulder, wanting to finish things on my terms.”

The 46-year-old veteran explained the changes he is making in his training regimen to prepare for his return, including increased cardio workouts and ring practice. “I’ll be getting in the ring a few times this week and in the coming weeks,” he added. Jackson last wrestled for German promotion wXw in October 2015 and mentioned his initial hesitance about returning to wrestling.

Miro’s career has been marked by highs and lows throughout his time in both WWE and AEW, displaying formidable talent but facing obstacles that hindered his success. His new chapter in Qatar might pave the way for renewed opportunities as he looks to reclaim spotlights in the wrestling world.
