Miss Colorado Becomes First Active-Duty Air Force Officer to Win Miss America

Colorado Springs, CO – In an exciting turn of events, Miss Colorado and recent U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) graduate, Madison Marsh, has made history by becoming the first active-duty Air Force officer to win the prestigious Miss America pageant.

The announcement was made on Sunday evening, Jan. 14, and the U.S. Air Force congratulated Marsh on her remarkable achievement. Calling her their very own Airman, 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh, the Air Force expressed their delight in her win.

Marsh, originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas, graduated from the USAFA in 2023 with a degree in Physics, specializing in Astronomy. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Policy at the esteemed Harvard Kennedy School.

As Miss America 2024, Marsh will receive a $50,000 scholarship and will begin her reign immediately, serving for one year.

In a previous interview with Nova, host of Loving Living Local, Marsh shared her aspirations and journey before she left for the Miss America competition in December. Her unique background and accomplishments have set her apart as a contestant.
