Mls Streaming Partnership Ea Sports

Los Angeles, CA – Major League Soccer (MLS) is set to stream live games through the EA Sports FC Mobile video game for the first time, marking a significant development in the intersection of gaming and sports. Fans can tune in for four regular-season matches starting May 10.

The initial game will be a rematch of the 2024 MLS Cup between the Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Red Bulls. The match will air on Saturday, May 10, with additional games scheduled for May 17, and two more in September, dates to be announced later.

EA Sports, the video game publisher, has partnered with MLS and Apple TV to offer the matches through a feature called ‘FCM TV’, which will simulcast the MLS Season Pass broadcast. According to EA, players who watch will receive a free one-month trial of the MLS Season Pass and in-game currency.

“By being able to watch select live MLS Season Pass matches within EA SPORTS FC Mobile, we’re continuing a commitment to our players to bring them closer to the game they love,” said Lawrence Koh, VP of EA SPORTS FC Mobile.

This collaboration highlights MLS’s aim to increase its viewership and engagement, especially after the arrival of global superstar Lionel Messi in 2023, significantly enhancing the league’s popularity. Camilo Durana, MLS’s executive vice president, emphasized the importance of innovative partnerships, stating, “We’re reaching new and digitally native audiences around the world.”

The partnership stems from a 10-year media rights deal with Apple, which began in 2022 and positions all MLS games available through the MLS Season Pass streaming service. While the Season Pass has had initial success, this new initiative with EA aims to further broaden its reach.

The second match will feature Atlanta United facing the Philadelphia Union. Fans are expected to respond positively to this first-of-its-kind streaming initiative.
