Monaco Vs Montpellier Ligue 1

Folarin Balogun found the back of the net for the second time this season in Ligue 1, marking a significant moment as the goal coincided with AS Monaco‘s centenary celebration. This achievement highlighted Balogun’s ongoing scoring form, bringing his total to two goals for the season.

AS Monaco clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Montpellier, courtesy of a late goal by Lamine Camara in the 98th minute. This victory allowed Monaco to maintain its position alongside Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the top of the Ligue 1 standings. PSG had earlier secured a win against Rennes on the same day under the management of Luis Enrique.

Monaco persevered to the final whistle to secure these essential three points in the title race. Camara’s decisive moment came with a stunning volley following an assist from Swiss player Breel Embolo, just as the match was nearing its conclusion.

Montpellier initially took the lead in the first half, with Rabby Nzingoula scoring from outside the box just 15 minutes into the game. However, Balogun leveled the score in the 33rd minute with a low shot that Montpellier’s goalkeeper, Dimitry Bertaud, could not stop.

Monaco intensified their efforts for a win, which paid off after Montpellier’s Tangui Coulibaly was sent off in the 92nd minute following two yellow cards. With a numerical advantage in stoppage time, Monaco capitalized, and Camara’s goal ultimately allowed them to draw level with PSG in the league.
