Monica Lewinsky Launches Podcast to Reclaim Her Narrative
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern whose name became synonymous with one of the most infamous political scandals in U.S. history, is stepping into a new role as a podcast host. Her show, *Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky*, will debut on February 18, 2025, and will explore themes of loss, resilience, and redemption through intimate conversations with guests.
Lewinsky, now 51, has spent decades grappling with the public fallout of her involvement with President Bill Clinton in the late 1990s. The scandal, which led to Clinton’s impeachment, thrust her into a global spotlight and subjected her to relentless scrutiny. In her new podcast, produced by Wondery, Lewinsky aims to reframe her narrative while helping others reclaim what they’ve lost—whether it’s a sense of self, a stolen artifact, or a piece of their history.
“I feel very ready to step into all of me more publicly,” Lewinsky told Vanity Fair in a recent interview. “This is about reclaiming my own story and voice—and offering a safe space for others to do the same.”
The podcast will feature a mix of high-profile and lesser-known guests, including actor Molly Ringwald, tech journalist Kara Swisher, and singer JoJo Levesque. Each episode will conclude with Lewinsky asking her guest to share something they’re working to reclaim, whether it’s an emotion, an experience, or a physical object.
Lewinsky’s journey to this moment has been marked by personal and professional reinvention. After years of public shaming, she began writing about her experiences, including a 2014 essay for *Vanity Fair* in which she declared it was time to “burn the beret and bury the blue dress.” She later served as a producer on the FX series *Impeachment: American Crime Story*, which dramatized the Clinton scandal.
“I’ve had people suggest a podcast to me on and off for years, and it just felt really daunting,” Lewinsky admitted. “But it really became a moment for me last year, where I think I was ready for this next level of reclaiming my own story and voice.”
Lewinsky’s approach to the podcast is deeply personal. She describes herself as a “seeker” with a unique perspective, shaped by her own experiences of loss and redemption. “Reclamations can encompass loss, grief, resilience, grace, and ultimately triumph,” she said. “And if you’re lucky, there’s some humor along the way to grease the wheel.”
Marshall Lewy, Chief Content Officer at Wondery, praised Lewinsky’s vision for the show. “Monica is disarmingly smart and funny, and she brings a truly unique perspective to these conversations,” he said. “Audiences are going to discover something special every week.”
As Lewinsky prepares to launch her podcast, she remains reflective about her past and hopeful about the future. “I’m pretty well-versed and experienced in dealing with all sorts of shit that people can lob at you,” she said. “But my life is full of things other than just my past.”
