UL Monroe Faces South Alabama Amid Five-Game Home Losing Streak

MONROE, La. — The UL Monroe Warhawks (4-17, 0-8 Sun Belt) will host the South Alabama Jaguars (14-6, 6-2 Sun Belt) on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. ET at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Warhawks enter the matchup on a five-game home losing streak, while the Jaguars aim to continue their strong conference performance.

The Warhawks have struggled this season, most recently falling to Appalachian State 66-58 on January 25. South Alabama, meanwhile, is coming off a narrow 64-63 victory over Troy on January 18, followed by a 65-55 loss to the same team on January 25.

This game marks the first of two meetings between the teams this week. The Jaguars will host the Warhawks on January 30 at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Ala.

Elsewhere in the Sun Belt Conference, Winter Storm Enzo has disrupted schedules across the region. Southern Miss men’s basketball postponed its game against Troy due to travel issues caused by the storm, which brought 5.5 inches of snow to Troy, Ala. The game has been rescheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. CT.

The Southern Miss women’s team also adjusted its schedule, moving its game against James Madison to Friday and its matchup with Marshall to Sunday. The storm impacted multiple states, including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, forcing similar changes in college basketball and NBA schedules.
