Montana Grizzlies Face Off Against Portland State in Crucial Matchup
Portland, Ore. – The Montana Grizzlies are preparing for a critical football showdown against the Portland State Vikings on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. MT. This matchup marks the Grizzlies’ pursuit of their 20th Big Sky title, as they currently hold an unbeaten record of 10-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
The Vikings, on the other hand, are struggling with a 1-9 record, having faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation. They will host Montana at Providence Park in downtown Portland, where the Grizzlies have not played since 2015.
Portland State is seizing the opportunity to return to their former home after a hiatus, looking to invigorate their season with a full house expected for the game. “It’s great that they get to play us downtown again,” said Montana head coach Bobby Hauck. “I think it’s a cool venue. So we’re excited to try to go get our 11th win in a row.”
Last season, the Grizzlies snatched a win against Portland State with a 28-17 score. This time, they aim to build on their winning streak, coming off last week’s competitive victory over Eastern Washington.
“This is a huge game for our program and for our team’s goals,” Hauck emphasized. His players share the same mindset, “We focus on the week at hand and ignore looking ahead to future games,” said senior safety TJ Rausch.

Kickoff is anticipated to bring excitement and energy to Providence Park as the Montana Grizzlies look to cement their winning ways.
