The Montreal Alouettes claimed a narrow victory over the Calgary Stampeders with a final score of 30-26 at Percival-Molson Stadium. The game’s outcome was decided in the final possession of the Alouettes, trailing 26-24, with Cody Fajardo connecting with key players Tyson Philpot, Cole Spieker, and Walter Fletcher in a crucial drive.

Fajardo’s strategic passes led to a dramatic 31-yard touchdown by Fletcher, sealing the win for the Alouettes, although they missed the subsequent two-point conversion. The Alouettes’ defense also played a crucial role, with Tyrice Beverette intercepting a pass from Jake Maier in the closing seconds.

Touchdowns by Kaion Julien-Grant and Spieker, supported by three field goals from Jose Maltos, contributed to the Alouettes’ victory. On the other side, the Stampeders’ points came from Tommy Stevens (twice) and Reggie Begelton, along with two field goals by René Paredes.

Despite a challenging first half that saw the Alouettes trailing for the first time this season, the team rallied in the second half. Two turnovers in the second quarter allowed the Stampeders to build a 16-7 lead, but a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown by Kabion Ento narrowed the gap.

Following a turnover on their next possession, the Stampeders capitalized with a third touchdown, extending their lead to 23-9. The Alouettes managed to cut the deficit to 23-12 at halftime, setting the stage for their comeback in the second half.

Overall, the Alouettes secured their 10th consecutive regular-season victory, marking their 13th win including the 2023 playoff run. The game was not without its toll, as Marc-Antoine Dequoy sustained an injury and had to leave the game for further evaluation at the hospital.
