Laval Rocket Players

The Montreal Canadiens have announced the loan of seven players to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket. This development was shared on Monday, marking an important decision as the team finalizes its roster for the upcoming season. The players included in the loan are Logan Mailloux, Joshua Roy, Adam Engström, Jakub Dobeš, Lucas Condotta, Brandon Gignac, and William Trudeau.

Initially, on Sunday, the Canadiens had already sent forwards Lucas Condotta and Brandon Gignac, as well as defenseman William Trudeau, to join the Rocket. These three athletes had been recalled on Saturday to participate in the Canadiens’ final preseason game against the Ottawa Senators, where they all took to the ice.

Joining them in Laval on Monday morning are forward Joshua Roy, defensemen Logan Mailloux and Adam Engström, and goaltender Jakub Dobeš. This move provides these players with more opportunities to develop and hone their skills in the AHL as they prepare for potential future roles with the NHL team.

The players will participate in the Rocket’s ongoing training camp, which is scheduled to conclude with a media day at Place Bell. This provides a platform for players and management to meet and discuss the goals for the upcoming AHL season.

The decision comes as the Canadiens’ head coach, Martin St. Louis, prepares his team for their season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. St. Louis acknowledges the high emotions that often accompany season starts and is focused on maintaining team composure and performance in the initial stages of the competition.
