Morgan Wallen’s Album Tops Australian Charts for Third Week

Sydney, Australia – Morgan Wallen‘s album, “I’m The Problem,” remains at No. 1 on the Australian music charts for a third consecutive week. This achievement makes it the longest-running No. 1 album by a country artist in Australia in almost ten years, since Lee Kernaghan’s “Spirit of the Anzacs” topped the charts for four weeks in 2015.
The all-time record for a country album in Australia is held by Shania Twain’s “Come On Over,” which had an impressive 20 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 1999. Wallen is also making strides in the singles market, with his track “What I Want,” featuring Tate McRae, landing at No. 14 this week.
Meanwhile, Canadian pop star Tate McRae debuted at No. 5 with her new song “Just Keep Watching,” part of the soundtrack for Brad Pitt’s F1 film. This track marks her 11th top 20 hit on the ARIA chart. McRae’s most successful single to date, “Greedy,” reached No. 2 earlier this year.
In other music news, Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” surged from No. 34 to No. 2 this week. The rise follows the announcement that she has secured the master rights to her first six albums. Four of these albums have been re-recorded: “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” Swift mentioned in recent interviews that she has completed less than a quarter of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version).” The original version of “Reputation” reached No. 1 for two weeks in 2017.
Miley Cyrus also made an entry on the albums chart this week with her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful,” debuting at No. 4. This marks her eighth album to reach the top 20 in Australia. Cyrus has had three albums hit No. 1 in the past: “Breakout” (2008), “Bangerz” (2013), and “Endless Summer Vacation” (2023).
Popular indie rock band Cloud Control returned to the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 19 with their debut album “Bliss Release” from 2010, following their surprise reunion after a seven-year break. The album originally peaked at No. 20 and has earned critical acclaim. Their highest-charting album, “Dream Cave,” reached No. 9 in 2013.
On the singles chart, Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” remains at No. 1 for an 11th straight week. This streak ties it with seven other notable long-running chart-toppers in Australian history, including Wings’ “Mull of Kintyre,” Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” and others.
