Morgan Wallen to Headline First Camp Randall Concert Since 1997
MADISON, Wis. — Country music star Morgan Wallen will headline the first concert at the University of Wisconsin-Madison‘s Camp Randall Stadium in nearly three decades, marking a historic return of major musical acts to the iconic venue. Wallen’s “I’m the Problem 2025 Tour” will stop at Camp Randall on June 28, 2025, with Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley as opening acts.
The tour, named after Wallen’s upcoming fourth album, “I’m the Problem,” was announced Friday. While the album’s release date remains undisclosed, the title track debuted the same day. The concert will be the first at Camp Randall since 1997, when the stadium hosted a series of high-profile acts, including the Rolling Stones, U2, Pink Floyd, and Genesis.
Wallen’s Madison performance coincides with the second Saturday of Summerfest in Milwaukee, where Megan Thee Stallion will headline the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Despite the scheduling overlap, Wallen’s show is expected to draw a massive crowd, given his recent rise to stardom. In 2023, he launched one of the year’s top-grossing North American tours and secured two albums in the top 10 of Billboard’s 2024 year-end chart: “One Thing at a Time” (2023) and “Dangerous: The Double Album” (2021).
Camp Randall, with a capacity of over 80,000 for Wisconsin Badgers football games, has rarely hosted concerts. However, recent changes, including the approval of alcohol sales at the venue, have made it more attractive for large-scale events. “For these major stadium shows, to a certain extent, (alcohol sales) is a prerequisite. … And for the overall fan experience, it’s a nice amenity to have,” said Jason King, senior associate athletic director for capital projects and operations at UW Athletics.
The announcement follows Coldplay‘s sold-out July 19, 2025, concert at Camp Randall, part of their “Music of the Spheres World Tour.” Fans can register for presale access to Wallen’s concert through his website, morganwallen.com, until Jan. 28. General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. on Jan. 31 at uwbadgers.com. Ticket prices have not yet been announced.
